Karen, I have the Thayer Version II of Birds of North America. I find it very
good indeed. Had the earlier version and this one has improved on the first.
Some pictures of females, some on the nest, some of juvs. The sound is
excellent. Gives size, habitat, range maps and links to the page in The
Birder's Handbook. I do recommend it.
