Well, I finally got out to do a bit of birding late Sunday and, naturally,
all the rare birds had flown the coop!

But we did get a wonderful view of three Western Grebes in the harbor at
Moss Landing (between Santa Cruz and Monterey) and, as we sat watching these
birds, a Great Blue Heron flew up to the top of a moorage piling directly in
front of us and sat, not 10 feet away, displaying it's beautiful plumage!
Not an exciting day, but certainly a beautiful one.

A herd of gulls
A large flock of ducks flying in formation (too far away to ID)
