Jerry Blinn reports:

There was some discussion about Townsend's Solitaires in yards...

We had our first here in Silverdale, this evening.=20

Maybe it was the fact that we were having pot stickers swimming in red =
wine
vinegar, washed down with a good, chewy, oaky, Washington Cabernet =
Sauvignon,
that brought the bird here. We watched him working the holly berries as =
we were
working the pot sticker berries.<G>

Jerry: Sighted one in my front yard on Newberry Ridge (Silverdale) =
about a week ago and I was only having a latte at the time if that's a =
significant variable or not. Nevertheless, I'm new at this and wasn't =
sure I had made a correct I.D. Glad to hear someone else has seen one =
as well in our area. Not to brag or anything, but I do have Mountain =
Quail living in the brushy area down behind my house. Only sighted the =
male once this spring - very early, in Feb. - haven't seen any of the =
family since, but have been hearing the male calling quite regularly =
lately. Two years ago I had three adults and many babies (can't =
remember the number) coming to my feeder, but I stopped feeding last =
summer entirely due to the number of cats I was attracting and so they =
haven't been visiting me since. I do enjoy hearing that we are still =
"neighbors" though. =20
