I live in eastern Washington along the Columbia River northwest of Spokane.

For the last two week period there has been a bird calling only at night
with a repeating toot-toot-toot-toot (you get the picture!) call that I can
best describe as sounding like a note from a pan flute. The note is
monotone and repeats about once a second. I have listened to it continue
for as long as 15 minutes. Anyone have any ideas?
