Hello, this is Portland Audubon Society's Rare Bird Report. This recording
was made Thursday April 17. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

The Lewis and Clark State Park EMPEROR GOOSE continues to be seen as does
the EMPEROR at Hunter Creek south of Gold Beach. The MOCKINGBIRD is still
in Brookings. PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER and WESTERN TANAGER were seen in
Brookings during the week. WILSON'S WARBLERS were seen in Brookings and in
Portland.

A WHITE-TAILED KITE was at Nestucca Meadows near Pacific City April 9. Both
EARED and HORNED GREBES were on Meares Lake at Tillamook Bay April 12. Two
OLDSQUAWS were on the Nehalem Sewage Ponds and one was on Nehalem Bay April
10.

A male CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was near the Astoria High School April 11. A
GLAUCOUS GULL was on Clatsop Beach April 13, and a group of ten BALD EAGLES
was on the beach at the mouth of the Columbia River April 10. They flew
northward over the river when they left.

A pair of PURPLE MARTINS were on Sauvie Island April 13. A HOUSE WREN was
there April 15. A SWAINSON'S THRUSH was at the Portland Audubon Sanctuary
in the West Hills April 14. Two early HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHERS were at Mt.
Tabor Park in southeast Portland April 15. A RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER was in
Boring April 15. A PECTORAL SANDPIPER was with a flock of LONG-BILLED
DOWITCHERS April 10 at Creekside Marsh in Beaverton.

A bright male BROAD-TAILED HUMMINGBIRD was seen at a feeder in Mosier, in
the Columbia River Gorge April 12. That day a male CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD
began coming to a feeder along Larch Mountain Road south of Corbett.

Among the migrant shorebirds at Ankeny NWR near Salem April 11 were three
BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER. VAUX'S SWIFTS were reported during the week from many
areas of the Willamette Valley. Good warbler movements were reported
through the Willamette Valley during the week, including a MACGILLIVRAY'S
WARBLER in Eugene April 13. Three FRANKIN'S GULLS were at Plat I Reservior
near Sutherlin April 14.

PLAIN TITMOUSE, CALIFORNIA TOWHEE, and BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER were at Upper
Table Rock, north of Medford April 10.

A CATTLE EGRET was seen April 12 near Cow Lakes in Malheur County.
