Subject: RR: sneaky stuff

I've got one for ya!
Where our Sanctuary is ,the man that owned the land raises game birds. One day
he went into his golden pheasant pen and found one dead and half eaten. He
searched the sides and tops for any holes in the netting. He finally found a
hole at the top corner and fixed it. The next day he went into the same pen and
found another dead half eaten golden. He checked the pen for more holes but
couldn't find any. The next day everyone in the pen was fine. The next day,
nothing. The third day he found another dead pheasant, but no holes. He is
very dedicated to his birds and couldn't figure out what was going on with
these findings.
Finally He decided to eat his lunch in the back corner of the pen and spend the
afternoon just hiding and watching. After a only a moment he sensed that
something wasn't right in the pen. Looking things over he noticed that one of
the birds was out of place. Then it hit him. He was sitting there looking at a
coopers hawk walking around with the rest of the pheasant just waiting till he
got hungry again. As soon as the coops realized the jig was up and he was
spotted he darted around the aviary till the door was opened. I wouldn't have
believed this from anyone else but I no this man very well.
Not to mention for the remainder of the season this same coopers would sit
fairly low in a tree and just patiently watch people till they made eye contact
then he'd shoot past their head and scare the daylights out of them.

O.K. so it's not a falconry story, Lisa
