Today birding at Sequim (Dungeness and points west) was pleasant (not
raining) and showed what a great time of year this is for variety.
There are those birds we look at and say "winter", and those of
"summer". Today lots of both, and often very close to one another:
Northern rough wing, tree, and VG swallows; common yellowthroat and
orange crowned warbler; Bewick wrens in full throat; lots of spring
calling from all corners of the wood lots. Then: Black brant, common
loons, black and surf scoters, ancient murrelets, red breasted
mergansers, bufflehead, general ducks of all kinds still around.
