I experienced a sweet birding moment this morning that should be
shared with fellow tweeters.

Bewick's wrens have returned this year to an old (no longer used)
kitchen fan. They had been gone for a few years due to over-zealous
pruning of a tree outside the kitchen window.

This morning, getting breakfast, heating water in the microwave -- the
microwave gives three little beeps to signal it's done, and right
after those beeps I hear three more little chirps from inside the
kitchen fan. Is this a new way to communicate with our feathered
friends?
