Hi Tweeters,
During Spring the Yakima Chapter has a birdwalk at different valley locations
every Wednesday morning starting at 7:00 A.M., ending with breakfast at one
of our favorite restaurants, usually the nearest one.
This morning was slightly cool, but beautiful. Todays location was at
Sportsmans State Park. For some reason the bird count was lower than normal,
probably because it rained late into the night. Then all of a sudden there
it was, spotted by our senior expert owl spotter, Jack Whitnall. It was an
enormous Great Horned Owl perched on an obviously abandoned Magpie nest.
