Hello, Tweeters:

My name is Nathan Nye. I am 16 yrs old, and am a sophomore at Kentridge High
School in Kent. In my chemistry class (the instructor of which is an
ornithologist, I might add; name is Alan Grenon, if any of you might know
him) we are doing a 4th Qtr. project where we have to do 8 hrs. of volunteer
work in a science-related field and then write a journal on what we learned.

I thought I'd try and volunteer for a local ornithologist who was doing a
field project of any kind in the vicinity (by "vicinity," I mean generally
between Seattle and Tacoma) between now and the end of May. If any of you
are an ornithologist (or know of one) and are doing a project and would like
the help of a quite experienced birder (for a 16-yr-old), please let me know.
I don't mind how physically hard or what kind of work it is; whether it is
counting species or scouring an area and removing harmful plants, it doesn't
matter. I do a lot of hard yard work here at home, so I'm used to it. Or,
if you know of any other related volunteering opportunities, I would
appreciate any suggestions you could give me, also. If you would like to
e-mail me, my address is birdman19 at aol.com. Thanks again! I will greatly
appreciate any suggestions.
