Hi Chris and fellow Tweeters,
Here in sunny California the Yellow-headed Blackbirds are beginning to make
an appearance also. One was reported in the San Diego area.
Your "yellow" House Finch is probably a young male. I have noticed that
the males coming to my backyard feeders range in color from the
yellowish/orange to bright red. There seems to be an abundance of both
House Finches and House Sparrows here in Hemet this year !
