Not quite to Kellog, but there is an old (probably used 20 years) osprey nest
on a power pole east of Post Falls on power line crossing Spokane River to
Harbor Island. The nest is now inhabited by a female Canade goose. Male
move up and down the river. On first power pole south of river, ospreys
have established a new nest. Female(?)is sitting on nest and creates quite a
commotion when approached. Male (?) is generally near by. Quere: Will the
goslings survive the 40 foot drop from nest to ground, or will the ospreys
render this problem acedemic?
