To the person who wanted to know where Fort Flager is: Fort Flagler is
near Chimacum and Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula. There is often
very good birding there. To get there from Seattle, take the Bainbridge
Is ferry and go through Poulsbo (you might want to stop at the waterfront
here for some birding and good food at the small restaurants and cafes).
Follow signs to the Hood Canal Bridge, go across the bridge. Turn to
Chimacum and Port Townsend on Hwy 19. As you drive into Chimacum, you
will see signs for Fort Flagler on your right. If you miss the first
signs, there is another set about a mile down the road, after the school.
You will go through Port Hadlock and turn left at the signs for
Marrowstone Is and Fort Flagler. If you get lost, stop and ask anyone,
they are very friendly. Good birding!
