species, on
the north Olympic Peninsula. Yesterday (4/26), at Dungeness, we observed
already-fledged Robins and half-grown Killdeer chicks. In the last three
days I've seen Song Sparrows and House Sparrows feeding large chicks
almost ready to fledge. Conditions this spring (fairly wet and mild)
seem conducive to successful and early breeding. Time for double and
triple clutches?

Have similar observations been made in other areas of the Northwest?"

Yes! On Sunday (4/27) I observed a mother bufflehead flanked by two
babies at the Bainbridge Is ferry dock. And I have a pair of black capped
chickadees whose chicks hatched yesterday in one of my bird boxes.
