> Tweeters: I'm looking for information about Malheur NWR.

Check my website: http://donb.photo.net/malheur. There's quite a
bit of information there, a seasonal checklist, maps, and many
photos to make you eager to get down there.

No, it's perfect. Memorial Day weekend at Malheur is one of the birding
highlights of the year. Almost everybody will be there, and there's a
beer and wine festival at Frenchglen that weekend. If you plan to
camp at Page Springs Camp Ground (see my website for more info) you'd
better grab a spot Thursday or very early Friday AM if you're planning
to be there through Memorial Day. I'll have my tent pitched there
for about two weeks...

> Does the refuge have an email address?

Don't know.

> Where is a good place to camp with our tent trailer?

See above.

>Is the road to French Glen drivable?

Yes, and paved, though there's a detour outside Burns on the way
to Malheur due to a washed-out bridge.

> Is Steens Mountain Resort a good place to stay?

No idea. It looks like your standard RV park.

>What is the Malheur Field Station (at Princeton?) like?

Spartan and cheap. You can, though, use your tent trailer if
you want. They only have three or four RV spaces available, though.
They serve breakfast and dinner, food is cafeteria/dorm style.

> It isn't listed in our camping guides. Any particular hot
> spots to be aware of?

Yes, go to my website. Feel free to ask me any questions you have
afterwards. Do so soon, I'm off to Malheur this coming Saturday...
