Hi Tweeters! This report comes from Bridgeport, west of Spokane in N.C.
Wash. We are on the Columbia River at Chief Joseph Dam. On April 8 I
saw my first Yellow-headed Blackbird, Am. Avocet, Am. Pipit, White-throated
Swift, Canyon Wren, Greater Yellowlegs, Sage Thrasher, Savannah and Vesper
Sparrows. April l0th I saw first white pelicans, Vulture, Osprey, Tree and
Cliff
Swallows. April l6th I had a Lincoln's Sparrow in my yard and on the l8th
a
Golden-crowned Sprrow. Also on l8th saw my first Fox Sparrow and heard a
Rock Wren. April 28 had first Western Kingbird and on the 29th, 4 hrs.
after
putting up my feeder, a male Rufous Hummingbird. Firsts added today
include
Snipe, Marsh Wren, Caspian Tern, Barn Swallow and Virginia Rail. Birding
is
getting better, even though this has been a very cold April. Happy May
Day.
