My impression (possibly wrong) was that the Washington DeLorme, and the
other first states they put together, were such a runaway success, that the
company hastily threw together maps for other states. Still, they're
better than other maps, unless you want to buy a few thousand 7.5 minute
topos. As for Metzger's maps, those are some of the worst maps I've ever
seen. (The Metzgers that makes the maps is not the same company as
the Metzgers that now owns the store in downtown Seattle. I asked once
at the store, and they made it clear that they don't want the blame for
those maps!)
