I have put up one of those roost boxes for the last two winters and so far
have been disappointed. I put newspaper in the bottom to make cleaning it
easier and haven't seen a single dropping or any sign of occupancy. I have
lots of chickadees, and others overwintering in the yard but they don't seem
interested in the box. I'd also be interested in hearing whether anyone has
been successful. It seemed like such a nice idea to provide some cold
weather shelter.
