Belted Kingfishers are one of the noisiest birds in the North American
avifauna. They'll call from the air, from perches, and from within the
nesting burrows. They will call singly, or a pair will sit on the same
branch and happily rattle away as though they have nothing else to do with
the day.
And ya know what? No matter how much noise they make, their singing *never*
improves. They still sound like the guy in the third row with the loud
obnoxious laugh.
