Hugh - the Hooded Crow has always had subspecific, not specific status (see
the Latin name), so there's been no "lumping" here. If a list doesn't
distinguish subspecies, it will give the species as Carrion Crow.
Tristram's Grackle is alive an well under both the Latin and the English
names (see e.g. the 1992 "Birds of Europe with North Africa and the Middle
East" by Lars Jonsson). Looks like there's an omission in the computer
version of the list?
