I, too, had a less than glowing experience with Close Scientific to repair
a vintage pair of Bushnell binos. I was charged what I considered an
exorbitant price, and found the alignment very 'temporary,' even with
careful use. I was also treated rudely, and told that I must not be a
"serious" birder if I don't have such and such brand of binos ($400 and
up, offered by Close, of course.) To hell with them! I won't take
anything back to these people, and I will not give them any business EVER
again! Good luck.
