Columbia Estuary Report - 8/25/97

Shorebird diversity is running about as expected for the South Jetty
this weekend, which is not to say anything particularly unusual has
popped up.

Black Turnstone 1 6
Ruddy Turnstone 6 2
Baird's Sandpiper 1

Red-necked Phalarope 7

A juvenile COOPER'S HAWK was checking out the flats on 8/22.
ELEGANT TERNS are still around as are a few PARASITIC JAEGERS.
5 MARBLED GODWITS were reported on Friday at the Necannicum R.
