Dear fellow Tweets:

This is to thank everyone for their suggestions where to get my baked binoculars
fixed. It turns out my field testing wasn't very complete, and once I had a
chance to use my binocs all day, it was clear there was a problem. They did get
ruined from the oven heat. Besides having somewhat of a burnt look to the
rubber coating, the lenses have become mis-aligned and there is a dried coating
inside of the lenses. I think the best advice is from Cory Suddarth. She begs
people not to put their binocs in oven and lists all the reasons why.

Meanwhile, I have decided to buy a pair of waterproof binocs and am looking at
several pairs. Has anyone ever heard of or used some called Brunton Binoculars,
8x40, Eterna Standard, waterproof? They look kinda interesting. I've looked at
various recommendations, but nothing stands out to me. Has anyone had any
personal experience with waterproof binocs? Is there something I should watch
out for?

Thanks.
