I'll admit I don't know squat about stint ID, but could this be an alternate
plumaged Temminck's Stint? Arguing against Temminck's would be the noticable
primary projection.

Ruth Sullivan took photos of an interesting juvenile stint at Ocean Shores
on 19 August. First reported as a Long-toed, this bird is a fascinating
example of why stint identification ain't easy. Check it out at:
