In North Vancouver, B.C. the Wild Bird Trust fought for 20 years to
establish a Wildlife Sanctuary next to an industrial area. It took a long
time but it happened and Maplewood Flats is now a reality for at least the
length of our lease. The local industries have been very supportive, both
vocally and financially.

You seem to be faced with a reversed situation. My thought would be to
start working with Nucor NOW so that they realize the value of the Refuge
and its wide appeal to both locals and visitors. Get them to buy into the
idea of industry supporing the Refuge.

I've been to the Refuge once, was very impressed and would, as a visitor,
support all efforts to preserving it.
