To my delight yesterday late morning my backyard was being hunted by "I don't
know".
It was deep brown across back, with white on upper outside of wings when
folded.
Yellow legs, bright yellow spot on upper beak, yellow eyes, faint eye stripe
above eye and heavily streaked front.
It was beautiful and very patient. Sat on ground for a long period of 20
minutes, chased a sparrow, missed and perched on stump amid ivy (legs
hidden). Looked kind of funny. Then flew to my apple tree and waited again
for about 20 minutes. Total time in yard was over an hour. Very entertaining,
I hope to see it back. It was here last year but I never got a fair look to
identify.
Also, a pair of Townsend's Warblers and one Golden Crowned Kinglet to
highlight my day.
