I headed down to Kent today to see the Mockingbird, and found it exactly
where it had been previously reported - in the holly tree on Fragler Rd.
directly across from Anderson Park. Later it flew over to the fence around
the Kent Ponds where it was eating what appeared to be a millipede. After
scoping it at extremely close distance, I scanned the pond area where I saw
a Western Meadowlark, a beautiful male Kestrel, and...

... a MERLIN which proceeded to fly over the fence where the Mockingbird had
been, over the river, past the holly tree, and disappearing. I never saw
the Mockingbird again, but the Merlin didn't get it, since a few minutes
later, I spotted the Merlin chasing starlings.
