funny that you should ask that... just some weeks ago, I asked the same
question, only confined to japanese names, on a japanese bird list.
Answer is: there is a list of japanese names for foreign birds, BUT
nobody could read it on the japanese web-site (you need probably a
japanese editor, or something like that). My reason to ask was that I
would like to put together a checklist which would be useful in case I
would ever make the jump and try to guide tourists to birds and trees.
I don't know what is your idea behind it, but maybe I could be helpful
with the book mentioned by Mike Price.

PS Hav eyou been to the Squamish November Count? We did our own
inofficial count a week before. How was the result?
