Hi Folks,

I was down along Budd Inlet near the KGY Radio Station at about 1:30pm today - scanning to
see if the yellow-billed loon was around. No such luck. But, there were about 125 Barrow's
Goldeneyes! Pretty neat.

Then, through the fog came the fluting music of a swan.... 21 Tundra Swans materialized from
the gray, and then de-materialized off toward the south (over Capitol Lake?).

A little later in the afternoon, Marty and I stopped off at Burfoot Park, and took the trail down to
the beach. Not much for birds in the water, maybe 50-60 surf scoters and a few horned grebes.
But, the Madrona (Arbutus) trees on the bluff above the beach were full of berries, and there
were about 300 Robins, 100 starlings, a couple of Red-shafted Flickers and a female Pileated
Woodpecker feeding on those red berries. I searched long and hard for a Dusky Thrush or
something fun in the flock, but to no avail......
