Robert Cleland asked about going to the Pribilofs to see
Auklets. Good plan, Robert. The trip is expensive but not
difficult and if you go during the breeding season you will
have no trouble finding Least, Parakeet and Crested
Auklets as well as Red- and Black-legged Kittiwakes,
Northern Fulmars, Horned and Tufted Puffins, and
Common and Thick-billed Murres, possibly all on the
same cliffside.

Contact Reeve Aleutian Airways city office at
907-272-9426. Carol Waddell is the tour sales
agent. Or call the St. Paul Island corporation tollfree
at 800-544-2248. There are good bird guides and
3x daily tours of the birding cliffs, seal rookeries,
wildflower meadows, etc. I went last mid-June
with Anchorage Audubon and that was a good
time to go. Weather is unpredictable, however.
Allow for delays getting out and getting back.
