Yeah, the very first field-trip I ever led, to Sauvie Island (near
Portland) on
opening day of duck season. The person who'd volunteered "couldn't make it"
(probably after finding out it was the first hunt day of the year!) and I was
asked.

Leading a stream of cars, pull off to a screeching stop to view a far off pond
full of ... a set of duck decoys... oops!
