I think you've hit on something, Mike. Same thing seems to be true
around Sequim, as Saturday (12/6/97) on our Olympic Peninsula Audubon
Society field trip we saw significantly more Pied-billed Grebes than
typical, including a couple on salt water on Sequim Bay. Also good
numbers of Horned, Red-necked, and Westerns. Two Eared Grebes were in
Dungeness Bay off Cline Spit on 11/30/97, a place I've not seen them
before.
