The Green-tailed Towhee was present again today; this time it seemed to be
hanging out on the *east* side of the west hedgerow of the corn field, near
an island of spirea. Several of us saw the bird this morning. It may have
been more readily visible early in the morning. I got there at 10:00, and
searched until 12:00 before finding it. Other people saw Harris' Sparrow
and American Tree Sparrow, but I was not so lucky.

On Mann Rd, there was a Merlin. Out at the "West 90" in the Samish Flats,
there were several beautiful Rough-legged Hawks and an adult Peregrine. At
the Big Ditch access to Skagit WRA north of Stanwood, there were swans, Snow
Geese by the thousands, more Northern Harrier than I have ever seen before
(somewhere between 10 and 20), and some Western Meadowlark.

Is there a way to tell species of flying swans?
