Hi Tweeters,

I read the letters about Varied Thrushes and thought it was worth reporting
the Thrushes I have seen this fall. I live in Madrona by a small hillside,
where we usually only see Varied Thrushes in snow storms. But this year I
first heard one on September 21, and then again on the 23rd and 24th. Again I
saw and heard them on October4, 5 (a day when there were also 6 sparrow
species in my alley, including White-throated), 6 and 12. At this time there
were large flocks of Robins feeding on berries that the thrushes were loosely
associated with. This is by far the earliest I have seen them in my
neighboorhood.
