Hello.

This week has yielded for me three unusual sightings. A Townsend's Warbler in
the Arboretum, in one of the tall conifer areas. An Anna's Hummingbird in the
Winter Garden of the Arboretum. (I suspect this hummingbird is a year round
resident of the Winter Garden as I run into it periodically. The camellias are
in bursting bloom, the mahonias are at the edge of splendor, and the
hummingbird was busy at both. I did notice that the hummingbird perched on a
branch and fed, did not hover over the bloom.) An American Goldfinch at my
feeder and I am absolutely certain it was not a sparrow. I believe it was a
female Goldfinch, which brings to three the total number of goldfinches I have
ever seen at my feeder.
