That reminds me.... If any of you golden throng who went to Gibson's, BC to
view the Xantus' (note no apostrophe) Hummingbird would like to part with a
slide or print for publication in the spring 1998 issue of ABA's journal
"Field Notes", you can send same to the address in my sig at the bottom of
this post. The way it works is that any photo with publication potential
(they are resurrecting the photo gallery at the back of the magazine, by the
way) gets sent to Kenn Kaufman with an appropriate description. He vets them
and adds his own two cents if necessary then sends them on to the publisher.
The photo rights remain with the photographer and the photo will be returned
to me in due course, and I will then return to the sender.

I have learned the hard way that it is a *bad* idea to send original photos
anywhere. I strongly urge duping material before sending it along and just
sending the dupe. Losing the possibly mis-color-matched dupe is always
preferable to losing the original.
