I always vow I'll never get involved in these discussions, but .... R.R.
says "some names are just plain awkward to say by adding adjective
qualifiers on the end." Very true, and some names are also just plain
awkward with a whole bunch of esses and apostrophe esses. I'm of the old
school - very dated, I'm sure - and will stick to Xantus' (except when
publishing something!!).
