Yup. In Jericho Park early January, stood there 'tsk'-ing in rapid random
pattern as the little guy moved slowly down the tree closer and closer until
it was on a branch about two feet away at chest height blasting away at me
with red photons. I wondered why it chose that spot when I suddenly realised
it was displaying to the Leitz 'Red Spot' on my Leitz bins. This was really
tres kuehl to see, but I covered it up before the poor little guy went
thermo. It replaced its crown feathers, hopped around distractedly for a few
seconds and moved back up the tree to resume feeding.
