Sightings for December 14th

The XANTUS' HUMMINGBIRD is progressing well and continues to be seen daily
at 221 - 2nd St., Gibsons. Birders may view the bird from the picket fence
at the end of the driveway. All visitors are requested to sign the guest
book. A special reminder to photographers, please be considerate and take
great care not to cause the bird any undue stress.

Directions to the find this bird are as follows. Take the Langdale Ferry
from Horseshoe Bay. From the ferry follow Hwy #101 towards Gibsons and
Seschelt. Pass through Gibsons and turn left at Pratt which is the street
just past the Wendy's/Tim Hortons on your right. Follow Pratt to its end at
Gower Pt. Rd. Turn right and follow this road to 2nd Street. Turn right and
proceed a short distance uphill to 221 which is on your left. There is a
sawhorse in the drive.

The RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD along with 3 ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS were seen at a
townhouse complex in West Vancouver. For further details please call
926-9094.

The male COMMON EIDER now in almost pristine breeding plumage was again
seen west of the Kitsilano Yacht Club with a large raft of SCOTERS.

The immature HARRIS' S SPARROW was again found near the Stone Bridge in
Stanley Park

A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen on the west side of Deer Lake Burnaby.
