Subject: House Finch malady

Hi Tweets -
I have had 1 or 2 House Finches at my feeder with the widely reported eye
disease. Having just recently arrived in the northwest from Michigan I'm not
sure how widespread this condition is out here. I believe this is some sort
of a parasite. There was a lot of information on this last year but of
course I have forgotten most of it and don't have any reference handy (guess
I could do a search). One of the birds is most certainly blind in the right
eye. It sits on the feeder for long periods of time occasionaly taking a
sunflower seed. Doesn't look to me like it will last too much longer. Anyway
this thread may have already gone around on tweeters in the past year or so
and it's not necessary to repeat it (unless this renews interest in the
subject). Just curios what its status is in the northwest.
Thanks,
Charles.
