I've never been there (I think), but the state parks aren't actually closed in
that you will be shot if you are caught wandering around in one just because
the gate is locked and the sign says "Closed for the Winter", I hope. Parks
all over the state are "Closed for the Winter". I've always assumed that this
merely means that there are no facilities available nor winter maintenance.
Otherwise, you are free to come and go as you please on foot or in some cases,
other non-vehicliar means. Or maybe I've just been lucky so far and have
managed to dodge the bullet.
