On December 7, Phil Bartley discovered a very late WILSON'S WARBLER in
Columbia Park across the road from the restrooms decorated with a "Say No to
Drugs" message.

Also on December 7, Laurie Ness found a CATTLE EGRET in Pasco along Road 60
near Sylvester and she saw a female OLDSQUAW at the west end of Burbank
slough on the McNary National Wildlife refuge. The following day at McNary,
she found a SNOW GOOSE among Canada Geese on the north side of Humorist Road.

On December 9, Ruth Fischer, Nancy LaFramboise, and I (Bob Woodley) found 6
GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE along Road 100 just north of Argent in Pasco.

Glenda Rockwell reported a BROWN CREEPER in her yard in Two Rivers Park on
December 12.

Also on December 12, I found a PACIFIC LOON off the west end of Columbia
Park and noted that 2 CATTLE EGRET remained in the pasture along Shockley
Road, south of Keene Road, in Richland.

Today, Dennis Rockwell observed 3 GREATER YELLOWLEGS in Two Rivers Park.

Next Saturday, December 20, LCBAS will conduct its 31st CHRISTMAS BIRD COUNT
which hopefully will include some of the birds just mentioned. Participants
from Richland should meet at 7:30 AM in Howard Amon Park near the fingernail
stage just off Lee Street. Kennewick participants will meet at 7:30 AM at
the Audubon Nature Trail in Columbia Park. Pasco participants will meet
near the entrance to Sacajawea State Park also at 7:30 AM. [Please call
Phil Bartley at 783-5265 with any questions.]

Even if you are not able to identify all the birds seen, we can use all of
the eyes and ears we can get to find as many birds as possible. Please try
to participate.

To report your own sightings, please give your name, phone number and
sightings after the tone. Thank you.
