San Juan Islands or the Port Townsend - Keystone.

Currently there are many ancient murrelet in Port Townsend bay that are
easiest seen from the water, and the keystone ferry might do the trick. A
good scope from Pt Wilson in Port Townsend or possibly Fort Casey on
Whidbey would also be worth a try. It might be possible to return to
seattle via Whidbey and stop at fort Casey. Useable daylight is at most 8
hours. The ancient murrelets typically start thinning out about now. Not
sure how many will be around at the end of December.
