Re: "Skagit flats question" [reply]:

Excuse me for this drastic moment of self flagellation and PUBLIC humiliation.
It's the only way I'm ever going to learn, I hope! Desperate times calls for
desperate measures. Ever get hung up on a name or spelling; so used to
spelling it one way and that way 'incorrectly' all your life that it comes so
naturally without you ever even giving it a second thought? Well, for me, and
this is *no simple typo transposition* albeit it, it is that too, the name of
this winged creature which I so dearly love is one of 'em; albeit misspelled
"Gryfalcon." Correctly it should be spelled and written and still read
(barring the actions of those playful little gremlins which infest my
computer); GYRFALCON, "y" BEFORE the "r". So there! I'm setting the record
straight, putting this in *all* the spell checks I have or may ever encounter,
and hopefully this faux pas won't happen again! No one has called my
attention to the spelling error so oft repeated over and over, but it's also
an easy one to just glance over and miss. Now, the trouble will be when
actually running the spell check and in a hurry, I'll probably see
"Gryfalcon", click 'skip all' and move on without bothering to notice or
correct ('replace all') it. [Why even *have* a spell check?!] Let's hope
not. Maybe others have written in the same way, incorrectly "Gryfalcon"; how
would I know, or would even notice, or care which way it was spelled?!
Sheeesch!

So, so long for now... Your's sincerely,
...still sitting and whimpering in the corner with Michael with our pointy
little hats on, Richard
