If enough people misspell/mispronounce, does the misspelling then replace
the previously properly spelled word and enter the language?
Jewellry/Joolery, nuclear/nucular, Steller's/Stellar's: even the newsreaders
and some editors--who of all people should know better--don't bother
cleaving to the dictionary spellings &/or pronunciations anymore. Is this
truly how a language changes? Or is this a case that one wrong doesn't make
a right, but twenty million do? Is it simply a semantic version of scurvy,
preventable through the metaphorical Vitamin C of good education?

Well, someone once said English is our Mother Tongue, and that it's a cruel
child who makes his mother cry.
