Hi Scott,
Damon point is where i had most of all my rare sightings this year.I think
this is the first Snowy-Owl for the season.Our count was also saturday,It
was not easy for me with broken ribs to do the count,despitethe pain.But I
got rewaded not only our count was good 81 species with highlights as
Northern-shrike, Anna's Hummingbird like patrick put's it In the Wild,also
two Oldquaw male and female on Titlow-beach.But get this:In a smal
detention pond One rare Duck i found.We had to waite to end of the day to
identify this bird in the Book of Britain and Europe. It is a Red-Crested
Pochard female.Today we had lots of birders watching this bird.This female
is in the company of a female Buffelhead always together,diving and
feeding,the queston is now is this on escape from a Collecter.
MY anderstanding is there only collect the bright males.It was fun to
photograph thi duck, side by side with the Buffelhead.
