For the most recent bird news call the Washington Ornithological
Society's BirdBox at 425 454-2662.

The BLACK PHOEBE was seen again at the Washougal Sewage Ponds on the
20th. A CLARK'S GREBE was at Vancouver Lake on the 20th and a ROSS'
GOOSE was in a nearby farm field with Snow Geese.

The GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE was seen on the 19th near the Boat Launch
Parking Lot of the Skagit Game Range HQ. It was last reported on the
west side of the corn field staying near the brambles.

Two WESTERN SCRUB-JAYS were reported from near the intersection of SW
35th and 106th SW in Arbor Heights just south of Seattle on the 19th.

One of the highlights of the East Lake Washington Audubon Society
Christmas Count was a LONG-EARED OWL near the parking lot of Lake
Sammamish State Park.

The Grays Harbor Count produced a SNOWY OWL and two SHORT-EARED OWLS at
Damon Point, which now must be entered on foot due to a washed-out
section of road.

Two SHORT-TAILED SHEARWATERS were seen at Point-No-Point on the 17th and
a CASSIN'S AUKLET was there on the 18th. Another SHORT-TAILED
SHEARWATER was seen from the Edmonds-Kingston ferry on the 16th.

TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS have been reported from numerous locations around
the sound.
