Monday, December 22, 5:18 pm. This is Bill Schelmerdein in Olympia
Washington, and today following the Christmas Bird Count there was a
NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD on the west side of Olympia around the corner of 4th
and Plymouth Streets. We found the bird today, it was on the bird count,
and I guess it's been around for about a week. It was about a half a block
south in an alleyway behind 4th and Plymouth. We also looked for the
Yellow-billed Loon today, and could not find it at Priest Point Park but
rumor has it, it was there on Sunday and conditions weren't real great for
viewing today. Good luck and good birding.

Monday, Dec. 22, 7:59 am. This is Steve Mlodinow. Yesterday at the Lingus
Riverfront Park there was an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER that was actually in
the brush across the road from the park. And at the Everett Sewage ponds
there was a CINNAMON TEAL. Good luck and good birding.

Sunday, Dec. 21, 1:00 pm. This report was received on Friday. Dec. 19 at
9:45 am from Fay Linger, phone number 360-779-7035, who saw two WESTERN
SCRUB JAYS on phone wires at the intersection of 106th Ave. SW and SW 35th
St. in West Seattle on 12/18.

Saturday, Dec. 20, 7:42 pm. Steve Mlodinow again. Despite my attempt at
focusing on the last message, I forgot one bird, that was a RED-NECKED
GREBE, there were two of them, and they were also at Vancouver Lake.

Sat, Dec. 20, 6:11 pm. Steve Mlodinow reporting from Nisqually for Ryan
Shaw, Jason Starfire and myself on 12/20. Today we birded Clark County, and
got the BLACK PHOEBE in the afternoon at the Washougal sewage treatment
pond. It was not present in the morning despite a lot of searching. Also
present at Vancouver lake was a CLARK'S GREBE and in a nearby farm field a
ROSS' GOOSE in with a number of CACKLING GEESE and a small group of SNOW
GEESE. Finally down by Post Office Lake, there were three BARN SWALLOWS and
back by the Vancouver sewage pond there was a GREAT EGRET. Good luck and
good birding.

Friday, Dec. 19, 7:59 am. Hi this is Tom Aversa at 782-7342. Just calling
to update that the GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE is still up there on Fir Island in
the Skagit Game Range in the hedgerow on the west side of a standing corn
field. Yesterday morning it was maybe 80 yards north of that little island
of spirea. Easy to see in the morning.

Thursday, Dec. 18, 9:08 am. Vic Nelson at Point No Point on the NE tip of
the Kitsap Peninsula. On 12/17 I had 2 SHORT-TAILED SHEARWATERS fly in in
the middle of the day and later flew out. And this morning Dec. 18 about
8:00 am I had one CASSIN'S AUKLET.
