We survived our 2nd annual CBC, with much more pleasant weather =
conditions than last year! Fifteen observers took part, inc. some from =
Seattle, who were hoping for the Sharp-tailed Grouse. However, it was =
not to be seen until the following Monday. Sorry, guys. We had 82 =
species; 2l,799 individuals,plus 8 additional count week species.Coots =
were down from l2,048 to 5.307. Robins went from l2 to 885;N. Harriers =
went from l to 20; Mallards went from 334 to 3081; instead of 90l =
Bohemian Waxwings and 0 Cedars, we had 6 Bohemian and 68 Cedars. Some =
of more "unusual" birds were 2 Mt. Bluebirds (along the Columbia R.), 3 =
species of wrens: Winter, Marsh and Canyon; l Short-eared Owl and l =
