Our single Red Phalarope in Area 1 of the Grays Harbor CBC circle was sitting
in the parking lot at the Point Brown jetty, Ocean Shores. Without an alert
driver, we could have run over the bird, which took flight only at the last
moment; probably not the healthiest phalarope on the planet.

phalarope, then catching its "heavy" beak to confirm the identity before it
disappeared.
